Welcome to Aboriginal season of April and May. You are here Today. The Autumn, Season of Adulthood. Time of marriages & courtship ceremonies. Becoming cooler, southwesterly winds, dew and frosts. Activities include moving to coastal lakes and the hunting of tortoise, ducks and swans. Fire Kula (Podocarpus) in the hills, build shelters and make skin cloaks.

Campus Friends Group

Murdoch Environmental Restoration Group(e), (MERGe). Aim:- The maintainence and enhancement of bushland on Murdoch Campus to benefit conservation and populations of local flora, fauna, fungi and migrating species in this a Biodiversity hotspot.

Loneragan Lecture Threatre 5.30-7.30pm

6th March - Wild Australasia - a six part film series. Screenings will be Episode 3 Southern Seas and Episode 4 Gum Tree Country (enjoyed by attendees)

3rd April - Conservation Week TBA

(2 of 4 events in final stages [1] presentation of 2007 Fungi report and presentation on Fungi Conservation. [2] Dr. Harriet Mills, Lecturer UWA, School of Animal Biology).

Events

Volunteers needed for cocky survey on campus

Lotsa voly's are needed for cockatoo roost surveys from 30th Mar - 5th May on Sunday evenings (~5.30-7pm) and/or Monday mornings (~6-7.30am). Help with one or many - the choice is yours! No previous experience required as instrutions will be provided, but volunteers must be reliable to turn up as promised.

Get some practical experience, do something good for the environment and help with conservation of the endangered Carnaby's Black Cockatoos.
